Situated on the eastern outskirts of York, some 5 miles from the city centre, Breezy Knees Gardens are packed with over 6,000 different varieties of flowers, shrubs and trees. Featuring extensive herbaceous borders and a series of other areas including a rock garden, fountains, a shrub garden, pond, a conifer & grass garden, annual meadow, rose garden and lots more, they have been designed through careful successional planting to be at their best throughout the summer. Highlights include the oriental poppies, irises, peonies and special June garden in early summer, the annual meadow and roses of mid-summer and the special September Garden in late summer, whilst the main herbaceous borders continue full of blossom all the way from May to the end of September.
